  • Step 1. Go to the Instagram website

    Go to Privacy and Security on Instagram.

  • Step 2. Click on Request Download

    Scroll down to Data Download and click on Request download.

  • Step 3. Press Next

    Select JSON as Information format and press Next.

  • Step 4. Grab a coffee & wait ☕️

    Now we wait. You will receive an e-mail from Instagram within a few hours with a download link.

  • Step 5. Download

    In the e-mail you received from Instagram click on Download information.

  • Step 6. Unzip your downloaded file

    Unzip your downloaded file. In the Messages > Inbox folder you will find a folder for each of your Instagram conversations containing your Instagram messages in .json format.
